      Yeah, the iPhone has way better features, but the iPad has a great and huge display. You can choose to have a device that has an awesome camera, video calling capabilities and a phone or a device which has a bigger screen. Personally, i think the iPad is a waste of money. You pay 0 just for the bigger screen. It cant do anything the iPhone cant. Defiantly get the iPhone.

      You are absolutely right. It "looks cool" that's about it, there's really nothing more to it then just looking cool. The iPhone 4 is not worth buying. Apple is not too good at upgrading their software but is really good at locking it down (it took apple 4 generations to FINALLY add multitask, which isn't even multitasking). The Verizon version is worst. It still has the antenna issue and will not be able to do voice calls and data usage at the same time. Lot's of developers are moving over to Android and overtime, iPhone's and iOS will become less and less supported.

      Why don't you just go buy yourself a nice android phone. Verizon has plenty to choose from. More and more (and better) Android handset are coming out to all carriers. You can do way mare than just apps, on a Android device. Androids are pretty much more customizable, more advance, more intuitive, more support, overall, way more power os than a iPhone 2,3,4,5,6 or 7. Once you go Android, you won't want to go back to iPhone.

      It's the best smartphone out there. I went out to go visit the iPhone 4 the other day, and it's gorgeous. I was at first like: Uh, that design is fugly and not Apple like. But when i got to hold it and feel it, it was AMAZING! it is really well built and feels really strong and heavy in your hand. Trust me, there's no phone you've ever held like this! The camera is pretty great. Although it's 5 mega-pixels, that camerea sensor packs in more features so the image quality looks ten times better than a regular old 8 mega-pixel camera. The Retina display, i thought it was a really good display, but it wasn't that great, but hey - I only had five minutes with the phone. So i think my opinion will change over time once i get it. Most say it's gorgeous, so i believe it's superb. The gyroscope i haven't tested. Multi-tasking is simply butter on toast. And it's VERY thin. I did not know them volume buttons were so small till i saw them in real life. All in all, it is a really nice, thin, well built phone that packs your whole life in one simple device. Oh, and there is absolutely no issue with the signal/antenna. Every phone does it, my blackberry does it. I tried the Evo, and it had that same issue. So don't even worry about it. Don't think you don't want to get the iPhone 4 just cause that little small "issue". Get it because it's everything you want. Well, i will soon be dropping this dirty ol' blackberry for that piece of beauty :)

      I have no doubt that I phone is great phone with lots of features. but I have always though that they have no character since everyone have them and their too expensive. lacking multitasking and other features normal phone have. not to mention that most of its applications are not free. Android phones are very customizable with a lot of features each phone specialize in. some even come with physical keyboard and bigger screen than the I phone . such as the HTC desire z and the Motorola milestone series. most of Android applications are free and great, besides as I mentioned earlier every manufacturer adds its own touch on the software which makes it unique. if u want to be ur own self and personality buy an Android phone cuz u get to express ur self as u want . if u want to be one of those people who go with the flow and stick with what is well known then buy I phone . if u hage any other questions concerning buying a phone contact me on fastwing76@yahoo.com

      This is the phone that all phones being manufacturing today is trying to copy and emulate. Before the iPhone 1 think of what most phones looked like! Now all of them are touchscreen, tiled apps, and Microsoft being late to the table as usual is struggling to get rid of over 1.7 million units that are moving very slow in sales.
      Also phone. It's reliable and very easy to use. The phone never gave problems with call quality or FaceTime, however, other apps such as Tango did not work very well unless it was to another iPhone user. This phone has no competitor at all. It is a top of the line phone.

      Uh, just cause you are 11 doesn't mean the phone all of a sudden becomes gigantic.

      It is the world's slimmest smartphone. Generally the reviews are positive. The only major issue is the reception problem, but it is in the minority & is solved with a case.

    I want to get iPhone 4 but the reviews for AT&T said it have horrible reception. So that means I should go for another service provider. If I go with another service provider, then I should get blackberry because then don't have iPhone 4.

      Actually the reviews said nothing of the kind. The reviews said there is a problem with reception being cut off if you hold the phone a certain way in your bare hand. This problem goes way when you use a case and you need a case with any iPhone. If your area has decent AT&T coverage, you will have decent coverage for a 4. If your area doesn't have good AT&T coverage, use a different carrier and a different phone.

      If i couldn't use an iPhone, I'd go with one of the droids. Blackberrys don't impress me.

      Ok... I got one.
      Without the new 4.1 release... which may or not fix it,

      the Phone is Great!
      I'm a PC guy and have had many different phones. Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, etc.

      And the first time I switched to the Iphone... I've never switched back. It's awesome.
      I have tried the Macpro... and nope, not good enough. My wife has the Ipad, and NOpe, I can't type on it lol.

      Anyways, no, there is no screen yellow issues - except for taking photos with the Flash on.
      -antenna issues, not really, since I do use a phone skin.
      -proximity sensor is a FREEEKKKKKINGGGGG pain in the buttttt --- but, I use my speaker phone lots... so no biggy for ME.
      -other points:
      the screen is the best in the industry - and is worth it just for that.
      +the iphone4 processor is NUTTS. It is fast. Faster than a phone needs to be. Internet browsing is awesome... but STILL NO FLASH SUPPORT... but that's not a big deal - cuz yahoo answers doesn't use too much flash except for the ads.. and i don't miss them.

      app store: well... I just don't use it much so I don't know.

    Does the Otterbox Defender case for Iphone 4 screw up the battery?
    I'm looking for a case that mainly protects the screen for the iphone 4 and I've seen the reviews for the otterbox defender. It's gotten good reviews, but some people have said that it heats up the phone and can cause damage to the battery. Is that true?
    Are there better cases that don't affect the battery but still protect the screen??

    • ANSWER:
      Think about it, the case is on the outside of the phone, does not come in contact with the battery, and it causes it to heat the battery up how? If that was true, ANY case that covers the back and front of the phone, including screen protectors would be causing the same "heating up" of the battery.

      It's not a ventilation issue either, because if it was, the iphone case would be riddled with holes for ventilation, in fact it's not, but the ports of exposed to dirt as well as moisture, and many cases have port plugs or you can buy them without cases.

      So the Defender Series of cases for other phones does not cause this "heating up of the battery" that you "heard" happens with iPhones. I would say it is using the phone on full brightness, all the radios (cellular, gps, wifi) and running apps that is creating the heating up of the phone or bad batteries considering it's only such a small number that seem to have the problem.

      I love my iPhone 4, I don't find the antenna issue a problem at all, Most people use a case anyways so that fixes your problem. I have used the phone without a case and deliberately held my hand over the problem area and the Phone it's self says I'm losing service but I never dropped my call. The only problem I'm having is with the proximity sensor, When I'm on the phone, the slightest movement can trigger it to unlock and turn on and I'm forever hanging up on calls and having to call back, Apple told me it wasn't a software, or hardware problem, that it was just more sensitive then the iPhone 3G and 3GS and said it wasn't a problem with the phone it's self at all. Overall I love my iPhone and even if they have a recall I'll keep the phone.

      The iPhone 4 is a great device which is really thin but really capable. The iPhone now has a retina display, which is almost a perfect display. The retina display is the best thing about the iPhone 4. The 2nd best is the new camera which features an LED flash, HD video recording and can take great night shots. It also has a new front camera which can be used for video calling. The camera is sensational, and at least i always have a good camera with me now. The new design makes the device super thin and the materials feel premium in your hand. The A4 processor was added to the iPhone 4, and loads games really fast and helps make the iPhone feel speedy. As well as the A4 processor, its also got more RAM which makes multitasking really smooth and enjoyable to use. One last thing is the antenna, i haven't had any problems with it, but i does drop 1 or 2 bars when you hold the 2 black slits. Overall, the iPhone has had a huge upgrade this year and is defiantly worth the money.

      Well i have also been wanting a iphone and i have found a lot of the reviews on Youtube to be helpful.. Also you can go to verizon and people comment on the phone they have bought from them. People say that the battery life is kinda short but that all depends on if you are playing games on it 24/7.. obviously playing games is going to drain your battery quicker than it would if it was sitting in ur pocket locked. bout the scratches you could just get a screen protector so you wouldnt have to worry about that.       OMG it is the best phone ever. When you see the screen on it your going to freak, it's so bright and it's got so many pixels so you don't see any blocks or anything on it. It's the most pixels ever on a screen on a phone before. The cameras are also great, and it has the best sox.       the incase snap case. before my iphone fell out of my pocket on a rollercoaster ): , i had the new incase slider on it. It fit unbelievably snug. I know it's not the snap case, but it retails at the same price and most of their products are usually great quality anyways.

    I have been using my iPhone 3G since it was released 2 years ago. I became use to it and really like it but there are some things that I'm not happy with. It tends to freeze a lot and gives me all kinds of problems. I also don't like its lack of customization.

    Continuing on, I am not sure about getting the iPhone 4. I have heard that it has had some problems upon its release which isn't a good sign. I've looked at reviews and comparisons with it pitted against the Samsung Captivate and it seems every review favors the iPhone. With what I read the advantages of the iPhone 4 are its FaceTime, Bigger App Store, and its camera flash.
    A lot of reviews praise the iPhone 4 on its FaceTime, but the problem with that is it only works with other iPhone 4 users. I only have maybe 2-3 friends who have an iPhone 4 which makes that function pretty useless, because I'd mostly just text that person. The flash on the camera isn't that big of a concern for me because I rarely take photos in the dark. The only thing that matters to me is the bigger app store.

    I'm leaning towards the captivate right now but I want to see any personal reviews anyone has for either phone.
    Added: I'm a college student so the things I'm looking for in a phone are texting, web browsing, and social networking. The iPhone has nice apps but a lot of them are crap that get old in minutes.

      If you want a hackable and customizable phone android its the way to go.
      build quality iphone 4 wins feel heavy in a good way and fancy.
      samsung seem to be more plasticy but a nice 4 inch display.

      the good side you can try the captivate and if you dont like it return it before 30 days and get the iphone 4 but you might have to pay boxing fees like 20 -30 bucks

      I haven't had droid but quite a few of my friends do and 2 of them want iPhones. I think it's cuz they're easier to use. Also the app store is more on point. All apps created go thru review from apple. Also the program to make apps costs money. So I can guess more effort and time goes into making good apps and keeping them updated.

      They are hard to find now. It could mean that until Apple figures out all the antenna problems they are slowing down production. That way if they have to do a recall there will not be as many to recall. I heard its a good device. But not real good with making calls. Always dropping calls. As a reference, I have only dropped one call in the last 10 months. So, if you are loosing alot of calls then most likely its the phone. So, if you buy the iphone4 for the apps and games and text, that will be fine. If you buy it for making calls, then beware, not so good.

    1. The iPhone browsing and other Internet experience when not using wifi (i.e. when using the native AT&T data connection) is slow as molasses. This is because it uses only AT&T’s Edge connection, and not the faster 3G data connection. The reason for this is that there is not yet a 3G chip set which won’t cause such a significant battery drain on the iPhone that you’d have maybe an hour of battery life at a time.     P.S. To make things worse, the iPhone is set up so that it will not ever default to the mobile version of a web site, so not only is it excruciatingly slow, but it insists on loading the full site, not the mobile-lite version.

    2. The iPod function will not work if the iPhone is not activated and being serviced by AT&T! That means that, yes, if you buy an iPhone, the iPod function will not work until you activate it with AT&T. And, if you buy the phone and activate it, and then decide to quit using AT&T’s service, and take the iPhone offline, you will no longer be able to use its iPod function. It becomes a 0 paperweight.     3. To activate the iPhone you must connect it through iTunes, either after you take it home or, at some Apple stores, through a special system they will have set up. The very act of connecting the iPhone to activate it automatically extends your AT&T contract by two years - each time the iPhone is reconnected and reactivated! To quote the AT&T representative, “If you take it activate it, and then deactivate it and give it to your sister, and she hooks it up to her computer and activates it, that’s another automatic two year contract,” (or extension of your already-existing AT&T contract). And if you deactivate the iPhone, and then months later decide to reactivate it yourself..yep..you have just extended your contract by two year again!     4. It’s true that there is a slot for a SIM card in the iPhone. It’s also true that your current AT&T SIM card won’t work with it. Or vice versa. This means that unlike nearly every other set of SIM-based phones within the same network (such as AT&T or T-Mobile), you cannot swap your SIM card back and forth between two or more phones. If the iPhone is going to be your phone, it’s going to be your only phone. Because if you want to use another phone on the AT&T network, you will have to have AT&T deactivate the iPhone, and you will have to get a new SIM for that other phone.     5. The data plan for the iPhone is a different data plan then AT&T’s current Medianet package. This is, according to the AT&T rep, because the iPhone needs to access the virtual voice mail, and that makes it an entirely different data plan.     I looked at many reviews and things iphone 4 looks VERY attractive, I really want to get it. But I feel that it's only because of the hype.

    I want to get it for the apps and how it's pretty multifunctional, but I feel like the price is really too much.
    I am probably going to get one that is SIM FREE since I'm not going to have a data plan as I don't really surf on the internet when I'm out.

    Should I just get the iPhone 3GS instead? Because it's going to be a LOT cheaper when the iPhone 4 comes out.

    Which phone should I get? The iPhone 4 or the Samaung Captivate?
    I am eligible for an upgrade in march and have been thinking about either the iPhone or the captivate. My biggest worry about the captivate is I have read reviews where it supposedly shuts off multiple times a day and has a god awful battery life. I am wondering I'd the shutting down problem is common or if it is blown out of proportion.

      If you could drive a top-line Mercedes, would you get a nice hyundai? The iphone4 sets the standard. Like the Mercedes, it's not perfect but IMHO it is close! I basically run my life from this phone, and most smart phone apps are built for it. It seamlessly integrates music, video, data, pictures and more. I just love love love it and won't consider anything else! Everyone I know is happy with it. The software is constantly improving and there are so many apps!!!!! Heaven! So, I recommend the iphone4 lol

      It has antenna problem which can be fixed with bumper though. They also have some glitches which can also be fixed with next firmware update. So, it's upto you.     Should I buy an iPhone 4 now or wait till it gets sorted out?
    I really want an iPhone 4 but all the reviews and videos on the internet have put me off as the iphone seems to have lots of pretty serious problems; like the antenna, discolouration of the retina display etc.

    I am wondering if it would be best if i wait a month or two and see if they change/ re-release the iPhone to remove the faults? or is there a better Android phone option?

      First of all, the iPhone has a huge AppStore that out does any other smartphone on the market... Last I heard they were at 300,000 Apps. Apple is at the top of the market and the majority of programming devs are working on iPhone Apps because that's where the money is at the moment. Android and other companies just haven't caught up and probably won't for a long time.

      Second, iPhones are extremely easy to use, the operating system runs smooth and seamless, and everything is simple to figure out.

      Third, right now the iPhone 4's overall specs (hardware) outdo any other smart phone on the market. Yes it's new and it probably will be beaten before next June, but right now it's got that fresh gadget glow.

      And in answer to your question, the glass is supposed to be 30x stronger than the plastic they used for previous iPhones. I haven't dropped mine yet and don't plan on finding out how easily it cracks but it doesn't seem brittle in the least. I would recommend getting a case though, as with any expensive smartphone.
